Welcome to Chef Oliver’s Garden

Chef Oliver and his wife have been working tirelessly on their garden all spring and summer long. Finally we are reaping the benefits of their hard work! We are seeing garden fresh vegetables and herbs daily in the Bistro. Some of the veggies that made it to the plate are red carrots, heirloom tomatoes (below), basil, and summer squash.

As the season continues we will have more and new veggies making it into our homemade soups, sauces, salads, and sandwiches.

Hedgerow Bistro and Catering News

The Hedgerow Bistro has been experiencing an increase in new visitors and we couldn’t be more pleased. We’ve also noticed a new trend of phoning in lunch orders. This is a great way to get your lunch even faster! If you plan on taking lunch to go, you can call us ahead of time at 217-365-0055 and have your lunch ready when you arrive. The Bistro is offering some new specials that are quickly becoming popular. The current best seller is the gourmet BLT which is served with heirloom tomatoes from the chef’s garden.

Just a reminder: the English Hedgerow is open once a month to the public for our fabulous wine dinners. Over the next several months we will be hosting dinners involving the freshest local produce available. For this reason we will not be able to post menu’s weeks in advance, instead it will be only a few days. As we’ve seen most of our customers don’t mind this and are more than willing to trust in us to provide a dining experience that is unsurpassed in the Champaign-Urbana area. For this we must say, thank you.

We have had a very busy summer of weddings and, sadly, funerals, fulfilling our title of “full service” florist.

Our wedding designing continues to allow us to diverge into flights of fancy, as trusting brides and grooms allow us creative license to make their wedding celebration visions a reality.

We had a lot of fun arranging the wedding flowers for this lovely couple (right) in Sullivan.

Flowers can help us express emotions that we cannot put into words so our funeral arrangements (left) give us an opportunity to assist grieving families communicate their feelings.

It is truly our pleasure and privilege and to be asked to help at these two important moments in our our customers lives.
