This month we introduce our Chef’s Kitchen experience, invite you to our Chick Correa Dinner, and suggest fun floral ideas for those of you going to Prom.

New for lunch ~ Freshly baked each morning, rosemary foccacia white bread ~ makes a delicious alternative to wholewheat pita bread for our Bistro Sandwiches.

Experience Our Chef’s Kitchen

In cities around the world, a desire for an alternative to the constraints of traditional restaurant dining has resulted in the creation of the ‘tasting menu’ coupled with the ‘Chef’s Kitchen’ or ‘Chef’s Table’ concept.

Food minded social or professional groups treat themselves to culinary experiences with the personal attention and devotion of an in-house or visiting chef.

Hedgerow Bistro now offers a Chef’s Kitchen experience which provides diners with a direct and more focused relationship with the food and the chef. A tasting menu is employed as a good vehicle for the chef to demonstrate his artistry, while allowing the diner an opportunity to experience the many different phases of a well designed meal. Diners are invited into the kitchen at any time during the evening to watch, learn and chat with the chef(s).

In order to accommodate this new Chef’s Kitchen, the Bistro is no longer open in the evening for general dining. If you would like to consider one of these private dining events for your party, please contact Chef Oliver (Oliver@EnglishHedgerow.com or ph:365-0055).

Our next special event for open reservations is our Chick Correa Dinner on April 5^th. Also, our dining room is open throughout the UofI Graduation Weekend (May 11^th – 13^th), which includes Mothers Day this year.

1. Chick Correa Dinner: Thursday April 5^th 2007

For those of you fortunate enough to have tickets for Jazz Master Chick Corea and Gary Burton's Krannert performance, start the evening off with a special jazzy dinner at the Hedgerow Bistro.

Listen to the classic recording of Crystal Silence and get in the mood!

For those of you less fortunate, come join us anyway! Enjoy an evening of good food and music.

Our dining room will open at 5:00 pm so you will have plenty of time to enjoy your dinner and be in your seats for the 7:30pm show.

2. Graduation Dinners: May 11^th, 12^th, & 13^th 2007

Earning a degree from the U of I is certainly something to celebrate.

Enjoy a well earned lunch or dinner with your family during this special weekend. We encourage your reservation.

The Bistro will be open throughout graduation weekend. Professional photographer Mark Romine will be on hand. His creative work will provide you with fantastic visual images of this milestone day.

Rushing into town for commencement? Call or email ahead and have your presentation bouquets, corsages and boutonnieres ready for pick up or placed at your dining table awaiting your arrival.
